ADMIT ONE
“…audiences should not miss the opportunity to see Admit One…a show that will entertain with clever comedy and a note-worthy subject at its core.” -Broadway World
Admit One, written by Wendy Yondorf and directed by Karen Carpenter, had its highly successful world premiere run at New Jersey Repertory Company in 2014. The play received rave reviews and the show garnered the largest audiences of NJ Rep’s performance season.
The play is a timely, deeply funny two-character work that blows the lid off the behind-the-scenes college admission process. It’s about the power to reject or accept, and the human desire to be a part of the most exclusive, elite club and ensuring that it remains ever more exclusive. It’s about being on the inside versus the prospect of a lifetime on the outside. Admit One skewers the American need to have our children be accepted to the right school and the lengths parents will go to do it.
“…it’s a comic tour de force and Yondorf, a former Ivy League admission officer, knows her stuff.” -Times Herald Record
